INTRODUCTION

Introduction

Since It's establishment in 1689, Ede and Ravenscroft has been appointed robe maker to thirteen successive British monarchs and the production and supply of academic dress has been a feature of the company's work since its early days. The Ede and Ravenscroft graduation service is a cost effective, high quality service that provides for all the needs and requirements of an institution, its officers, members of academic staff and graduands.

From gown hire and photography to the design and sale of academic dress, gifts and accessories, we are committed to bringing a modern approach to the graduation market and to developing new and innovative ways of serving the customer. Our operations in Asia are based in Kuala Lumpur and offer graduation services in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand and the Philippines.

ACADEMIC HIRE

Currently there are over 500,000 academic robes in the Ede and Ravenscroft hire stock and a considerably larger number of hoods and hats.

Literature on the Graduation Service is normally sent to institutions for distribution to their students. Orders can then be placed direct with Ede and Ravenscroft or with the institution itself depending on your institution's preference. Provided sufficient notice is given, the special needs and requirements of any customer (for example those with a disability) will be net at no additional charge. All individual orders received will be confirmed. Before the graduation ceremony, every outfit is seized and packed ready for despatch to the venue.

After the ceremony the outfits are checked and re-packed for return to one of our warehouses. As an optional extra, provided the robes are not taken out of the country they are hired in, graduands may extend the period of hire to one week and take their gowns away with them. The returned outfits are steam cleaned and where needed repaired and refurbished to ensure that they are in pristine condition before they are hired again.

DESIGN SERVICE

Ede and Ravenscroft design department can assist in the development and selection of academic dress. Using a computerised design service, new designs are checked against any existing academic patterns. This product is unique to Ede and Ravenscroft.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Using state of the art equipment and qualified personnel Ede and Ravenscroft offers the ultimate portrait service in both quality and choice. From an individual photograph to a family portrait, we believe in the importance of offering a variety of poses and options.

On the day of the ceremony, our professional photographers and highly experienced sales staff will assist and advise. To help graduates and their families make their choice, a complete range of our photography products will be displayed in the sales area, although orders may be prepaid to save time on graduation day.

Studios are set up, each complete with backdrop, lights, tripod and camera. Staff make certain that customers are put at their ease and that gowns are correctly arranged, our growing experience proving invaluable to achieve the correct poses. In addition, Ede and Ravenscroft can also take informal pictures of graduands receiving their awards at the ceremony and group shots of staff and students. We endeavour to ensure the portraits are a complete success and provide a treasured memory of the day.

COLOUR DIGITAL PROOFING SYSTEM

Utilising the latest digital technology in our in-house studio, it is possible for the graduate and photographer to view the image on screen, giving our photographer quality control over the photographs they have just taken.

In addition to the more traditional photographs, graduates can also choose to have their image produced on CD or USB, enabling them to e-mail their images to family and friends.

AFTER SALES SERVICE

The customer's photograph can be presented in a mount gold blocked with the institution's name or alternatively the photograph and the mount can be digitally generated as a single picture which does not require a mount. In the unlikely event of a graduate being dissatisfied with their photographs, we offer to reprint, retouch or retake the photograph. Alternatively a full refund may be requested.

A re-order service is available to all customers requiring additional photographs at a later date. Information on this service is distributed to customers at the time of their initial order.

Should the customer wish to contact us at any point, our experienced customer service team will be only too pleased to help. Each customer is issued with a personal reference number which is entered into our database allowing us to fast track all enquiries.

ADDITIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES

To allow the graduand to tailor an order to their exact requirements we offer range of photographs which may be added to any pack. Sizes range from 6" x 4" to 12" x 10"
